The Trent Excalibur men’s lacrosse team will begin its push toward a national title this weekend as it hosts the Carleton Ravens in Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association playoff action.
The opening-round matchup is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Justin Chiu Stadium, where the Excalibur will look to build on an 8-2 regular season and secure a spot at the 2025 Baggataway Cup. The national championship tournament runs Nov. 7–9 at Terry Fox Stadium in Brampton, with three teams from both the CUFLA East and West divisions advancing.
Trent finished second in the East Division behind McGill and enters the postseason with momentum — and home-field advantage — after a strong campaign.
The Excalibur and Ravens split their regular-season series, with Carleton winning 9–6 at home in September before Trent responded with a 7–3 victory in Peterborough in October. Trent has historically had the upper hand in the rivalry, taking eight of the last 10 meetings dating back to 2017.
Face-off is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $10 at the gate, with free admission for children 12 and under.
