The City of Peterborough has announced Ticketmaster as its new official ticketing software provider for sports and entertainment venues.
The platform promises enhanced digital ticketing, a smoother purchasing experience, and greater convenience for fans. Mobile ticketing will allow faster entry and less paper use, while secure ticket transfers make it simple to share tickets with friends and family.
The transition to Ticketmaster will be gradual. Upcoming events, including the Sarah McLachlan concert and the Peterborough Petes’ 2025/2026 regular season games, will not be affected. Events after November 9 will be moved to the new platform, with ticket holders receiving email updates. The Peterborough Petes and the Century 21 Lakers will officially launch their 2026/2027 seasons using Ticketmaster.
Councillor Alex Bierk, Community Services co-chair, said, “By introducing a modern, reliable, and user-friendly ticketing system, we’re making it easier than ever for residents and visitors to enjoy the incredible sports, concerts and community events that take place in Peterborough. This is an important step forward in supporting our city’s recreational and cultural goals while ensuring our venues continue to meet the needs of today’s audiences.”
Michael Oke, General Manager/Vice President of Operations for the Petes, added, “Ticketmaster will provide Peterborough Petes fans the ticketing platform used at major arenas around the world. This easy-to-use app will allow our Season Ticket Members easy access to their tickets, make it easier to transfer their tickets to friends and family and the ability to donate tickets to charities.”
Len Powers, Chairperson of the Century 21 Lakers, said, “The Lakers board is very pleased that the city has gone this route. We feel this will be more streamlined for our fans going forward, when they are purchasing season tickets and game day tickets.”
