Updates on dementia research and support services provided locally will be the focus of a Thursday gathering featuring three speakers.
Dementia On The Front Lines will see Kawartha Centre director of clinical operations Jill MacPhee provide an update on dementia research being done locally while Alzheimer Society Ontario senior director Adam Morrison will provide an overview of the provincial advocacy plan.
Also speaking is Jen Johnstone, the director of local Alzheimer Society.
Johnstone says all those working in the dementia space strongly advocate the importance of early diagnosis.
Johnstone at one time not that long ago, people didn’t talk about dementia. That, she says, has thankfully changed, resulting in better outcomes for those afflicted and for those in their lives.
There are just a few spots open for Thursday’s event. To register, visit www.dementiatalk.ca.
