Kawartha Food Share is hopping this week, with volunteers accepting and sorting food donations at the Neal Drive warehouse, but general manager Ashlee Aitken says the expected demand will see supplies dwindle pretty quick.
That, she says, makes the upcoming Porch Pirates For Good food drive even more important.
Set for October 25th, the food collection drive will help replenish warehouse shelves following the heavy Thanksgiving demand for food. Aitken says that makes for a very busy time for warehouse volunteers.
Aitken explains how Porch Pirates For Good works.
Aitken adds it’s important to make sure your food donation bag is clearly identified as such.
