It has been awhile since the Blue Jays played in the World Series, but for one Peterborough man, the memory of 1993 is as clear as ever.
Well-known local entrepreneur Neil Morton was sitting three or four rows behind the Phillies dugout alongside friend Mike Fredericks when Joe Carter hit one of the most famous homeruns in baseball history to win the championship.
Morton describes the moment as one of the highlights of his life.
Watching George Springer, another Toronto slugger, find the seats on Monday to help clinch the American League Pennant certainly brought back some amazing feelings for Morton and all of Jays Nation.
When it comes to the bigger picture, Morton feels this is another great example of how sports can really bring people together.
Game 1 of the World Series will be hosted at Rogers on Friday at 8 p.m.
