When you’ve been in business for close to 50 years, you must be doing something right.
Well, since 1976 when Jo Anne Fallaise founded the business, Joanne’s Place Health Foods has done a lot right, checking some very big boxes in terms of not only product availability, but also customer service and education.
When Jo Anne retired, her daughter Margo and her husband Paul carried on that tradition. Today, Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods offers a full line of natural foods, supplements and other health-conscious products at two very busy locations – in Peterborough at 1260 Lansdowne Street West and in Lindsay at 370 Kent Street West.
With the business set to mark five decades next year, general manager Sharon Walker says sourcing local and Canadian products first has been, and remains, a deep-rooted practice.
Walker says Jo Anne’s searching out for products for her family provided the springboard for what became Jo Anne’s Place Health Foods.
Walker says consumers are much more educated now in terms of health food benefits and options – something that Jo Anne’s Place staff are willing and able to build on.
