Temporary patio spaces in downtown Peterborough will start coming down Monday, October 20, as the City prepares roads and sidewalks for winter maintenance.
Businesses with patios on city property, including sidewalks and on-street parking areas, are asked to clear furniture by the end of the day Sunday.
The expanded patios were introduced in June, with Hunter Street West converted to a one-lane, one-way street between George and Aylmer to create additional outdoor dining space. Once the patios are removed, the street will return to two-way traffic.
This marks the sixth summer the City has implemented temporary changes downtown to support patio and pedestrian use.
