Council has approved on-street parking restrictions on Hetherington Drive between Richard Road and Woodland Drive to improve safety and maintain essential services.
The changes come after staff reviewed parking challenges at the north end of Hetherington Drive, where vehicles parked on both sides were impeding snow-clearing, garbage and recycling collection, and emergency vehicle access, particularly during winter months.
Under the new rules, calendar parking will be implemented at the north end of the street: parking is prohibited on the east side from the 1st to the 15th of each month, and on the west side from the 16th to the end of the month. For the southern section, a no-parking restriction will apply on both sides for approximately 215 metres south of Woodland Drive.
These updates are designed to improve road safety and ensure uninterrupted municipal services for residents.
