While the Head of the Trent rowing regatta is the premier event of the university’s homecoming weekend, welcoming alumni back to their alma mater remains a key focus.
To that end, this weekend will see past students converge at Trent to reminisce while enjoying a number of activities. That will include a number of past varsity athletes, which brings a smile to Nathan McFadden’s face.
As the university’s director of athletics recreation and, as such, a member of Trent’s senior leadership team, not lost on McFadden is the key role alumni play in the university’s vitality and stability.
McFadden says having the Otonabee River – the stage for this weekend’s regatta – running through Trent’s campus is a plus on many levels.
Asked what he’s looking forward to most this weekend, McFadden says connecting with alumni, and particular former varsity athletes, will do it for him.
McFadden notes Trent’s varsity athletes will be in action all weekend, including the Excalibur rugby, volleyball and soccer teams.
