The buzz is building for the Peterborough and Kawarthas Business Excellence Awards — and Oldies 96.7 & Freq 90.5 are right in the spotlight.
The stations have been named a finalist in the Marketing and Promotion category for the 2025 PTBO Home, Garden & Cottage Show. The recognition puts one of the region’s biggest consumer shows alongside other local businesses being celebrated for leadership and creativity.
Sales manager Jef Dueck says being nominated speaks volumes about the reach the event has built over the years.
The show takes over the Healthy Planet Arena each spring, with more than 200 exhibitors, offering everything from home renovation ideas and outdoor living inspiration to lifestyle and community resources. It’s become a must-attend event for homeowners, gardeners, and cottagers across the Kawarthas.
Dueck says that kind of variety is only possible because of the effort his team puts in well before opening day.
The awards, presented by the Peterborough and Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce, will be handed out October 22 at Showplace, with winners announced across 14 categories. While the top prize is still up for grabs, just landing on the finalist list is an achievement that highlights the impact of the PTBO Home, Garden & Cottage Show.
For Dueck, that recognition makes the nomination itself a victory, especially after implementing a bold strategy for this year’s show.
