A Peterborough high school briefly went into lockdown after reports that a student may have had a weapon in the community.
Crestwood Secondary School said it followed board protocol and contacted police on Tuesday after learning of the concern. According to a note sent to parents, officers arrived and quickly determined there was no weapon and no risk to student safety.
The lockdown lasted about 20 minutes before normal activities resumed.
School officials say the safety of students and staff remains their top priority and thanked the community, staff and police for their quick response.
