Peterborough has no shortage of community heroes, and now there’s a new way to celebrate them.
Domino’s Pizza franchisee Allan Hill has been part of the Peterborough business community for nearly three decades. He says over that time, he’s seen countless people quietly making a difference.
That idea led to the creation of the No Cape Required volunteer recognition program, aimed at shining a light on those who give their time to make Peterborough and the Kawarthas better. He’s launching the program alongside Denise Krant, franchisee at the Lindsay Domino’s location, to help celebrate the people making a difference across the region
According to Hill, this isn’t about selling pizza, it’s about showing gratitude.
The program is simple: local organizations can nominate their volunteers, and those selected will receive a large three-topping pizza and a social media shoutout. Hill says every nomination will be recognized, not just a select few.
It’s a project that’s close to his heart. Hill says Peterborough has always been a special place for him and he’s proud to be part of its community spirit.
Nominations can be submitted by picking up a form at either the Peterborough or Lindsay Domino’s locations, or by requesting a digital copy by email (at ahill@nexicom.net).
Hill hopes the program will not only run for years to come but also inspire other local businesses to join in.
He says his goal is simple, to give back and to make sure those who keep the community running feel seen.
True heroes aren’t defined by capes, but by their commitment to making the community stronger, and this program aims to inspire even more people to step up and be part of that positive change.
