The Peterborough Petes came up short against the Soo Greyhounds last night, losing 3-0. The game was scoreless through the first 53 minutes and 15 seconds until the Greyhounds were able to solve Easton Rye. They added another goal with Rye on the bench, at the one-minute mark, before sealing the win with a second empty-netter 18 seconds later.
The Petes will look to bounce back tomorrow when they travel to Brampton to take on the Steelheads. You can listen to Peterborough Kia Petes Hockey on Freq 90.5, with coverage beginning just before 4pm.
In NHL preseason play, former Pete Steven Lorentz had two goals and an assist last night as the Leafs beat the Canadiens 7-2.
The Lakefield Chiefs will put their undefeated streak on the line tonight when they visit Napanee to face the Raiders, who are also undefeated. Game time is 7:30.
And the Trent men’s and women’s soccer teams will be the first students to ride the newly wrapped Excalibur bus when they head to Ottawa to face Carleton. The women play at 6pm, with the men taking the pitch right after at 8:15.
