A hold and secure at Fenelon Falls Secondary School Tuesday morning lasted just under 15 minutes after police responded to reports of a suspicious person.
City of Kawartha Lakes OPP say they were called shortly after 9:30 a.m. about a group of teenagers walking toward the school, with one reportedly carrying what was believed to be a pipe bomb or large firework. Officers quickly located the person in question and determined there was no ongoing threat.
A youth, who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and public mischief.
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear in court in Lindsay at a later date.
