Residents are encouraged to roll up their sleeves and take part in a mass tree planting event at Wedgewood Park on Saturday, September 20, 2025, as part of the Trees 4 Peterborough initiative.
The project will see 515 native tree species planted to replace 250 trees that were removed from the park due to damage from the Emerald Ash Borer.
Tree planting runs from 11am to 2pm at Wedgewood Park, 1535 Fairmount Blvd. Volunteers can sign up online at peterborough.ca/trees, where you can also find more details on the City’s Urban Forest Strategic Plan and its Emerald Ash Borer program.
