Here is your local sports report for Friday, September 12, brought to you by The Greek Freak. Eat Greek, Be a Freak.
The Trent Excalibur men’s lacrosse team will look to improve their record to 3-0 on the season when they travel to Quebec tomorrow to take on Bishops. Following that game, they’ll be in Montreal on Sunday to face McGill, who they played to a close 11-10 win at home last weekend.
It’s a busy weekend for the Fleming Phoenix Rugby Sevens women’s team as they get set to kick off their new season on the road. They’ll be in Unionville for a triple header, taking on Humber, Conestoga, and Seneca. The team had just one win last year, finishing with a 1-13 record that included an 11-game losing streak to close out the season.
And the Peterborough Petes are off to Sarnia for their final preseason game against the Sting. It’s the team’s final tuneup before their home opener on Thursday against the Brampton Steelheads. Prior to the first regular season game, the Petes will host their annual season ticket member BBQ at the PMC on Tuesday.
