The Kawartha Lakes Police Service (KLPS) has officially joined the Ontario Provincial Police’s Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard (PBCD), a tool designed to enhance public safety and support frontline policing across Ontario.
Managed by the OPP, the PBCD provides real-time, cross-jurisdictional data to help police monitor individuals released on bail for firearms-related offences. By joining the dashboard, KLPS strengthens its commitment to proactive policing and community safety.
“The integration of the Provincial Bail Compliance Dashboard into our operations marks a significant step forward in our ability to monitor bail compliance and respond swiftly to potential violations,” said KLPS Chief of Police Kirk Robertson. “This tool enhances the safety of our officers and the public by ensuring we have access to critical information about individuals on bail for serious offences.”
The dashboard, which is also being used in Peterborough, is available to all police services in Ontario and supports collaborative efforts to improve bail compliance and reduce risks associated with firearms-related crimes.
