Peterborough County OPP have charged an individual following a report of a dog being shot.
Just before 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, OPP officers received a report that a family dog had been missing for about a week.
The complainant told police that attempts to locate the dog had been unsuccessful and that they believed their dog had been shot and killed by a neighbour, noting gunshots around the time the dog went missing.
Officers attended the scene and, after speaking with all parties involved, one individual was arrested.
67-year-old Ralph Boake of Havelock-Belmont-Methuen Township was charged with killing or injuring animals.
He is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough on September 16.
