Police have charged three teens after a stabbing early Sunday morning in the city’s south end.
Officials say that the victim and a friend were walking in the area of Monaghan and Crawford Drive when a confrontation occurred between them and a group of five youths. During the altercation, police allege the victim was stabbed. The suspects then fled the scene.
Following the attack, a 25-year-old man died in hospital.
Police began the search for those involved, which led to a number of road closures on Sunday morning.
On Monday afternoon, police say they arrested three men.
A 17-year-old was arrested on Sunday and charged with accessory after the fact. He remains in custody after appearing in court.
Arrests on Monday led to 19-year-old Josh Crane being charged with manslaughter and a 17-year-old has been charged with accessory after the fact and breach of a release order (weapons). Both are expected in court on Tuesday.
Investigators say that despite their original search involving five people, everyone who was at the scene have been identified and no other arrests are expected.
