Owen Elmhirst has known nothing but farm life, and has since taken that experience and knowledge to oversee Elmlodge Farms, a unique Polled Hereford operation just east of Peterborough.
Raised working side-by-side with his family at Indian River Cattle Company, Elmhirst is now carrying forward a long and proud beef cattle farming tradition that dates back to his grandparents’ love of the farming life, and today sees three generations active in day-to-day operations.
Reflecting on his experience growing up the farm, Elmhirst says working on the family farm taught him a lot of life skills he often calls upon now.
