Police are investigating two early-morning vehicle thefts in Peterborough that continue a trend targeting Toyota trucks and SUVs.
Peterborough Police say the thefts occurred between 4 and 5 a.m. on Tuesday, July 1st. One vehicle was taken from a driveway in the Cunningham Boulevard and Armour Road area, and the other from the Clancy Crescent and Spillsbury Drive neighbourhood. Broken glass was found at both scenes, and some items from one vehicle were later recovered near Old Norwood Road and Naish Drive.
Investigators say a lookout or suspect vehicle is often involved in these thefts, and residents are urged to report any suspicious vehicles seen idling in the early morning hours.
Police are working with other jurisdictions and advising Toyota owners to use theft deterrents, park strategically, and ensure tracking systems are active.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
