If books are your thing, Lakefield is the place to be July 18th and 19th.
The annual Lakefield Literary Festival, which brings acclaimed Canadian authors together to interact with book lovers, will be held at Lakefield College School’s Bryan Jones Theatre.
Among the authors presenting their latest work will be Jane Urquhart. The full festival schedule, as well as event tickets and weekend passes, is available at www.lakefieldliteraryfestival.com.
Board chair John Boyko, who has written eight books, has an understanding of the event’s appeal for the featured authors.
When promoting his books across the country, Boyko habitually hears good things about the festival.
Noting that the festival’s Young Writer’s Contest has again recognized the talents of a number of area students, Boyko the importance of that initiative can’t be overstated.
The Lakefield Literary Festival started in 1995 as a way to celebrate novelist Margaret Laurence, who lived in the village from 1974 until her passing in 1987.
