The Peterborough Lakers dropped their third straight game Thursday night, falling 9-8 to the Cobourg Kodiaks. It marks the first time the Lakers have lost to the Kodiaks since 2019, and their first three-game losing streak since 2013.
The Jr A Lakers are back in action tonight as they host the St. Catharines Athletics at the Memorial Centre. Opening faceoff is scheduled for 8 pm.
Meanwhile, the Jr C Lakers will open their playoff run Saturday afternoon when they take on Huntsville at the Healthy Planet Arena. Game time is 1 pm.
Elsewhere this weekend, the Peterborough Tigers are hosting their third annual Pink in the Park, Strike Out Cancer tournament, with U9, U12, and U13 teams competing at local diamonds across the city.
And the NHL Draft will get underway tonight from Los Angeles, with Peterborough native Porter Martone projected to be a top-five pick. Barrett Hayton is currently the highest drafted Peterborough-born player, selected fifth overall by the Coyotes in 2018.
