A major infrastructure project to replace the roof at Peterborough Regional Health Centre will begin next week as part of the hospital’s long-term commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and sustainable facility.
The multi-year project will be carried out in phases, with the first phase expected to last approximately 14 weeks.
Hospital officials say patients, visitors, and staff can expect standard construction-related noise during work hours, which are typically Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will also be increased traffic from contractors, work vehicles, and delivery trucks around the hospital grounds.
Mild odours related to roofing materials may be noticeable during specific phases of the project. PRHC says it is working closely with suppliers to minimize these impacts.
All construction activity will comply with safety standards, and work zones will be clearly marked to ensure public safety.
The hospital is thanking the community for its patience and understanding during the necessary upgrades.
