The Canadian Mental Health Association Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge is celebrating the tremendous success of its 3rd Annual Change the Cycle fundraiser.
A total of 86 cyclists took to the Rotary Greenway Trail for the community ride on Saturday at Nicholls Oval, raising $30,537.08 — far surpassing the event’s $25,000 fundraising goal. The organization says the outpouring of community support and donor generosity made this record-breaking achievement possible.
Funds raised will directly support Planet Youth, a collaborative initiative led by the Haliburton, Kawartha, Northumberland Peterborough (HKNP) Health Unit, aimed at promoting youth and family mental wellness across the region.
Organizers say the event represents a significant win for mental health supports locally and credited the success to the passion and commitment of participants, volunteers, and advocates. Special thanks were extended to “Agents of Change” Linda Kash and Michelle Mackey, who brought visibility and heart to the cause.
“This is a huge win for youth and family mental health in our region, and it would not have been possible without you all,” CMHA HKPR said in a statement.
