The Peterborough Downtown Business Improvement Area has unveiled Phase 2 of ‘TheBoro.ca’, a redesigned visitor website meant to steer shoppers and sightseers toward the city’s core.
Rebuilt with funding from Regional Tourism Organization 8’s partnership program, the platform shifts from its pandemic-era online-shopping roots to a full-service hub.
DBIA executive director Nour Mazloum tells PTBOTODAY.ca this new look really feels fresh and was a needed change.
The site also links to the Boro Gift Card and branded merchandise, giving merchants, artists and event promoters a collective stage. The DBIA notes research showing more than 60 per cent of Canadians search online before deciding where to shop or dine.
Mazloum adds the interactive business directory is really impressive.
Officials say the overhaul will make downtown businesses easier to find and more competitive in the digital economy while reinforcing the Boro brand in destination marketing.
