The Peterborough Humane Society (PHS) hosted Pet Fest this past Saturday, offering a lively day of activities for families and their furry friends at their Technology Drive location.
The event ran from 10 am to 2 pm and featured food trucks, dog agility demonstrations, and games for kids, making it enjoyable for both two- and four-legged visitors. This year’s Pet Fest also included more on-site vendors than ever before.
A highlight of the day was the official opening of the new Peterborough Animal Care Centre Trail. Representatives from Peterborough Mitsubishi, the main event sponsor, joined the Humane Society to cut the ribbon on “The Mitsubishi Mile,” the first section of the walking trail now open to the public.
Community members are encouraged to visit and enjoy the new outdoor space at PHS.
Officials say planning for next year’s Pet Fest is already underway.
