Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board has approved a balanced $549.1-million operating budget and a $46.4-million capital plan for 2025-26.
Chair Jaine Klassen-Jeninga called the exercise “complex,” saying key funding gaps in special education and transportation persist.
Enrolment is projected to slide by 380 students to 35,386, limiting grants. Spending includes $78-million for special-education supports and projects such as new a school in Millbrook.
The future elementary school will be built in the Towerhill subdivision and have 481 elementary student spaces and 73 licensed child care spaces.
