With temperatures expected to soar above 30 C over the next couple of days, the City of Peterborough is reminding residents to take precautions against the heat.
Environment Canada is forecasting hot weather through early next week. In response, the City is highlighting several resources available to help residents stay cool and hydrated.
Residents in need of a place to cool down are encouraged to visit any of the following City facilities during regular business hours:

Miskin Law Community Complex, 271 Lansdowne St. W., 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, 775 Brealey Dr., 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Trinity Community Centre
The drop-in program at Trinity Community Centre, located at 360 Reid St., is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. for access to resources, community connection and system navigation support. An overnight program also operates from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Beaches
Beavermead Beach, 2011 Ashburnham Dr., will be supervised by lifeguards starting Saturday, June 28, with daily coverage from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. through August 31. The beach at Rogers Cove will remain unsupervised this summer but continues to be maintained by the City.

Splash pads
Splash pads are open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the Riverview Park and Zoo location open from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
