The City of Peterborough officially opened the newly revitalized Denne Park, marking the completion of a major investment in local green space.
Located at 2401 Bensfort Rd., the redesigned park features a new playground, accessible picnic shelter, walkways, benches, bike rack, and newly planted trees. The park’s rejuvenation was identified through a city-wide assessment of public spaces, with construction beginning in spring 2024.
“This new park is an investment in both physical and mental well-being,” said councillors Alex Bierk and Lesley Parnell, co-chairs of Community Services, in a joint statement. “It reflects our commitment to accessible, inclusive recreation.”
Ashburnham Ward Councillors Gary Baldwin and Keith Riel said Denne Park will become a place where “families will gather, children will play and neighbours will connect.”
The City also announced completed upgrades at Dominion Park, including new safety surfacing, a shaded shelter, accessible seating, a sensory play area, tree planting and walkway improvements.
