Peterborough Police Service’s Drug Unit and Emergency Response Team carried out a search warrant on June 11 at a home near Rubidge and Townsend streets, resulting in the arrest of five people and the seizure of multiple firearms, drugs, and cash.
Officers found a sawed-off shotgun, a loaded Glock handgun with ammunition, 29.1 grams of cocaine, 179.5 grams of fentanyl, 5.7 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 231 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, and about $2,000 in Canadian currency.
The accused include a 37-year-old Peterborough man charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of loaded prohibited firearms, tampering with firearm serial numbers, multiple drug trafficking charges, and possession of proceeds of crime. He is currently subject to a 10-year weapons prohibition order.
A 36-year-old Peterborough woman faces similar firearms and drug trafficking charges, including possession of methamphetamine and psilocybin for trafficking. She was also held in custody.
A 48-year-old Peterborough man and a 43-year-old man from Campbellford were charged with multiple firearm and drug-related offences. The man from Campbellford is also charged with failing to comply with a probation order and is under a lifetime weapons prohibition.
Finally, a 38-year-old Peterborough man faces charges including possession of loaded firearms, drug trafficking, tampering with firearm serial numbers, and possession contrary to a weapons prohibition order.
