Three people have been found guilty in connection with the 2022 shooting death of 37-year-old Shawn Singh in Peterborough.
The verdicts were delivered Tuesday following a three-and-a-half-week trial in Lindsay. Eduardo “Tito” Silva, 37, was convicted of second-degree murder. Jack Monine, 30, was found guilty of manslaughter and accessory after the fact, while 38-year-old Rebecca Silva was convicted of accessory after the fact.
Singh was shot and killed in broad daylight on July 2, 2022, near Park Street and Sherbrooke Street.
Peterborough Police Chief Stuart Betts called the outcome “a testament to the hard work of investigators,” saying the case spanned several cities, including Toronto and Sault Ste. Marie. He credited the cooperation between police and Crown prosecutors in helping the victim’s family move toward healing.
Sentencing is expected this fall.
