Here is your local sports report for Wednesday, June 18, brought to you by White’s Wearparts. Serving and supplying all of Ontario with high quality, cost efficient parts for any OEM machine.
The Peterborough Pagans U16 girls kicked off their season with strong performances in both the Rugby Ontario Regional and Provincial Cups. The regional team edged the Belleville Bulldogs 19-15, while the provincial squad cruised to a 40-5 win over the Kingston Panthers. The provincial team is back in action Saturday at Nicholls Oval, hosting Belleville at 12pm.
It’s game two of a three-game home stretch for the Peterborough Jr A Lakers, who continue to climb the standings. A win tonight over the Burlington Blaze would move them into fifth place. Faceoff is set for 8pm at the Memorial Centre.
Meanwhile, the Jr C Lakers look to avenge their only loss of the season as they face the Whitby Warriors tonight in a battle for top spot. That one gets going at 8pm from the McKinney Centre. The Lakers wrap up their regular season Sunday at home against Orangeville.
From hard hits on the pitch to fast breaks on the floor, our local teams have been turning up the intensity.
