The lead-up to Canadian Multiculturalism Day on June 27 will see a number of free New Canadians’ Centre-organized events held in the community.
First marked in 2003, Canadian Multiculturalism Day has since spawned Peterborough’s Multicultural Festival, being held this year for the fourth time starting June 18th.
A number of events will feature music, dance, food and crafts, with the full schedule available at www.nccpeterborough.ca
New Canadians Centre community development manager Bhisham Ramoutar says members of different cultures welcome the opportunity to share their traditions with others.
Ramatour says there’s a curiousity and interest in other cultures that the festival well satisfies.
Ramoutar says those hosting the various events and those taking them in come away with something equally satisfying
