Here is your local sports report for Thursday, June 12.
Reed Chamberlain had a monster night for the Junior C Lakers, racking up nine points in a 17-5 win over the Halton Hills Bulldogs. Chamberlain now leads the league in scoring with 67 points in just 10 games. Jeremiah Wade also added to the offensive outburst, completely the six goal sock trick along with an assist. The Lakers remain in first place with a 12-1 record.
The Senior Lakers won’t be at the PMC tonight for their usually Thursday night home game but they will be in action. They’re in Brampton for an 8pm game against the Excelsiors. The Lakers are in Oakville on Monday before returning home next Thursday against Brooklin.
And for the first time in school history, the St. Peter’s Saints are the OFSAA baseball champions. The Saints capped off their gold medal run with a 15-6 win over the St. Charles Cardinal from Sudbury.
From diamond dominance to box lacrosse brilliance, Peterborough sports teams continue to raise the bar.
