Riverview Park and Zoo has shifted to summer operating hours, with gates now open daily from 8:30am until dusk.
The popular miniature train is running again from 10am to 6pm each day, weather permitting. Tickets are $2, with children two and under riding free. The splash pad is also open daily from 8:30am to 7pm.
Free Sunday summer concerts have returned to the gazebo every other week from 2 to 4pm. The next show is set for June 22, featuring the Kawartha Music Company and Northumberland Chorus.
Visitors can also enjoy the playground, animal exhibits, otter feeding at 1:30pm, and the disc golf course. Guest Services and the gift shop are open daily, with extended hours Wednesday through Sunday.
This Sunday will also feature a Father’s Day Classic Car Show, presented by the Kinsmen Club, with vehicles from 1999 and earlier on display at the north end of the zoo, near the intersection of Water Street and University Heights Blvd.
Some areas remain closed due to damage from the March ice storm, including the River Path Walking Trail. Cleanup is ongoing, and visitors are asked to obey all signs and barricades.
