Here is your local sports report for Tuesday, June 10.
The 13U A Peterborough Tigers baseball team brought home silver medals after a successful weekend at the Gander Ross tournament in Orillia. The Tigers beat the previously undefeated Aurora King Jays in the semifinals before falling to Orillia in the final. The entire team was all smiles after the game, proudly wearing their new hardware around their necks.
It was a winning weekend for a couple of Peterborough Wolverines youth football squads. The U10s beat the Peel Panthers 36–16 to earn their first win of the season, while the U16s picked up their second victory, defeating the Quinte Skyhawks 22–9.
The Jr. A Lakers return to action tonight when they visit Toronto to take on the Beaches at 8pm from the historic Ted Reeve Arena. A win would bring the Lakers’ record to .500 on the season.
From outdoor fields to inside the arena, the Peterborough summer sports scene is heating up at all corners.
