The finalists for five Peterborough Arts Awards have been revealed, with David Goyette acclaimed the recipient of the Arts Champion Award.
Set for June 12th at the Canadian Canoe Museum, the awards, organized and presented by the Electric City Culture Council, recognize excellence and outstanding achievement by city and county artists, arts organizations and arts supporters.
Nominated for Outstanding Emerging Artist are Káhnitha, Elisha May Rubacha and Lynda Todd; Oustanding Mid-Career Artist hopefuls are Michael Duguay, Nicole Malbeuf and Oliva Whetung; and Syd Birrell, Kim Blackwell and Frank Flynn are vying for the Outstanding Senior Artist award.
Meanwhile, Sarah DeCarlo and William Kingfisher have been shortlisted for Outstanding Achievement by an Indigenous Artist, while the Arts Catalyst will go to one of Lindy Finlan, Chad Hogan or Jason Wilkins.
