A 31-year-old Peterborough man is facing multiple charges after a routine patrol by the OPP led to a traffic stop on Ottawa Street.
On May 27th, an officer from the Peterborough County OPP Detachment was alerted by the Automated Licence Plate Recognition system in their cruiser to a possible issue with a passing vehicle’s licence plate. Following a stop and investigation, the driver was found to be prohibited from operating a motor vehicle.
The accused is charged with operation while prohibited, failing to comply with a probation order, driving while suspended, using an unauthorized plate, and failing to surrender an insurance card.
The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
