If a big part of your summer is enjoying live performances in the great outdoors, the William and Nora Heaslip Foundation Summer Festival is for you.
Set to begin June 5th, and continue most Thursday evenings until late August, the festival features free music and theatrical performances at Traill College’s Jalynn Bennett Amphitheatre on Dublin Street.
New this year is a partnership with Peterborough’s New Stages Theatre which adds four theatrical performances to the lineup.
Traill College principal Dr. Michael Eamon says the festival speaks very well to Trent University’s decades long community outreach.
The New Stages partnership, says Eamon, gifts an identified art form to the lineup.
Eamon notes the venue is a three-season performance space that provides a unique experience.
Opening night on June 5th features New Stages’ Fireside Munsch, adapted and performed by Peterborough’s M. John Kennedy.
