If you’re thinking about entering a team into the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival, the clock is ticking.
Registration closes on June 2nd and so far, more than 70 squads are set to take part.
Festival chair Michelle Thornton says with less than a month until the big day, this is a very busy stretch for organizers.
Thornton also gave us an update on fundraising efforts.
The festival goes on June 14th.
This year’s fundraising goal is $260,018.01 – the two representing the two in five Canadians who will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, the 60 referencing the hospital’s current $60 million campaign, the 18 symbolic of the one in eight women who will receive a breast cancer diagnosis, and the .01 being the percentage of men will also receive a breast cancer diagnosis.
