Led by Peterborough County Warden Bonnie Clark, the Eastern Ontario Wardens’ Caucus (EWOC) met May 13th with Premier Doug Ford and several Ontario MPS, including Ontario Cabinet ministers.
During the Queen’s Park gathering, the EOWC championed three regional priorities – the strengthening of economic resilience in the face of tariffs and global uncertainty; investment in municipal infrastructure; and the acceleration of housing development.
To strengthen its advocacy, EOWC leaders shared data on Eastern Ontario’s economic drivers and top-performing business sectors.
Warden Clark, chair of the EOWC, termed the gathering “a milestone moment” for the organization representing 103 urban and rural municipalities across Eastern Ontario.
“We came to Queen’s Park with clear priorities, strong regional alignment, and a willingness to work with the province. Our caucus is ready and willing to work together to deliver housing, infrastructure and economic growth throughout our communities.”
