Four people are facing charges in connection with the death of a 41-year-old Peterborough man following a violent altercation over the May long weekend.
Police were called to the area of Brock Street and George Street North around 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, where a verbal argument had escalated into a physical confrontation between the victim and a larger group. The man was transported to hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day.
Investigators say the individuals involved had ongoing interactions throughout the evening and believe the incident was targeted.
Early Monday morning, 26-year-old Matthew Janssen-Supernault was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. He appeared in WASH court later that day.
On Tuesday, police arrested two more individuals — 24-year-old Dylan Moffatt and 35-year-old Matthew Smith — both charged with manslaughter. A fourth suspect, 24-year-old Noah Stetski, turned himself in later that day and was also charged with manslaughter.
All three appeared in court Wednesday and remain in custody.
Peterborough Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 705-876-1122 ext. 555 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.stopcrimehere.ca.
