The Victoria Day holiday will affect some city services and facility operations.
While there will be no change to Monday’s normal curbside collection of garbage, organic, recycling and yard waste, the city-county landfill and the Household Hazardous Waste Depot will be closed Monday.
Peterborough Transit will operate on a holiday service schedule on the holiday Monday, returning to its regular schedule May 20th. Visit www.peterborough.ca/transit for detailed schedules.
Peterborough City Hall, the Peterborough Public Library and the Art Gallery of Peterborough will be closed on Victoria Day but the Sport and Wellness Centre will open on the holiday Monday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also open on Victoria Day, from noon to 5 p.m., is the Peterborough Museum and Archives.
The social services office on Charlotte Street will be closed on Victoria Day and all city-operated child care centres will also be closed on the holiday.
Please note that our News Department is off on Monday, May 19th. Coverage will, however, be provided in the event of breaking news that impacts the community. We will be return to regular coverage and programming on Tuesday, May 20th.
