The City of Peterborough is inviting residents and visitors to “Roll, Stroll and Celebrate” this Canada Day with a full day of free, family-friendly activities.
This year’s festivities begin with a community procession at 10 a.m. on July 1st, departing from City Hall at 500 George St. N. and ending at Millennium Park, 130 King St. Participants of all ages are encouraged to walk, bike or roll, with prizes awarded for the most creative entries in a decorated bike contest.
The informal, non-motorized procession is open to individuals, families, and local organizations. Community groups and businesses can register to take part using the Performer/Participant form at peterborough.ca/CanadaDay.
From noon to 6 p.m., Millennium Park will host live music, cultural displays, food vendors, and children’s programming. The celebration emphasizes accessibility, inclusion, and sustainability, showcasing local talent and community organizations.
The evening concludes at Del Crary Park with a Peterborough Musicfest concert and fireworks over Little Lake at 9:30 p.m.
A free outdoor movie night at Quaker Foods City Square kicks off the holiday on Monday, June 30 at dusk.
Vendor and performer applications are open until Friday, May 30 at 4 p.m. Full details are available at the city’s website.
