The City of Peterborough is asking residents to weigh in on plans to improve the Otonabee River Trail and shoreline along Crescent Street, between Haggart Street and the entrance to Del Crary Park.
An open house will be held Wednesday, May 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Waterfront, with a brief presentation scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
The project is in its early planning stages and may include shoreline erosion protection, naturalization, aquatic habitat improvements, traffic calming, enhanced access to Little Lake, and new public gathering spaces. Active transportation improvements are also being considered in line with the city’s Transportation Master Plan.
Residents are encouraged to share how they currently use the area, point out challenges and opportunities, and offer ideas for improvements. Feedback gathered will help shape design concepts and guide future phases of the project.
This initiative marks the first phase of the broader Little Lake Loop, part of both the Central Area Master Plan and Little Lake Master Plan. Engineering and design work is being led by CIMA+, selected through a competitive process.
