The Lakefield Farmers’ Market is getting ready to open for the 2025 season on Thursday, May 15. The weekly market will run rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. behind the Lakefield Arena at 20 Concession Street.
Shoppers will find a familiar mix of fresh produce, baked goods, meats, preserves, flowers, and handmade items, all sourced from local vendors across the Kawarthas. The season will include returning favourites like McLean Berry Farm, Bobcaygeon Brewing Company, Grandma Needled It, and The Jam Cupboard.
New additions this year include Kawartha Lakes Flower Farm and Mr. & Mrs. Perogie, expanding the market’s variety. There will also be rotating pop-up vendors throughout the season, such as Brad’s Knife Sharpening, Selwyn Makerspace, and Munchies Gourmet Kettlecorn.
Opening Day will feature a visit from PTBO GreenUP’s Shifting Gears and B!KE: The Community Bike Shop. Visitors can take part in the May Challenge, enjoy free bike tune-ups, and learn more about sustainable travel options.
Live music from local buskers will help round out a community-focused season that runs every Thursday until October 30.
Ahead of Thursday’s official opening day, a special Mother’s Day Market will take place Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. beside The Village Inn in downtown Lakefield
