Michael Landsberg has spent years using his platform to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health.
The former host of TSN’s Off The Record has been open about his own battle with depression, which began in 2009, and has since become a prominent voice in the conversation about mental illness.
Landsberg spoke with PTBOTODAY.ca about the importance of that openness.
In 2016, Landsberg launched Sick Not Weak, a foundation dedicated to changing the way people perceive mental health challenges.
He says stigma often stems from a harmful misconception.
Landsberg says he’s even more convinced today that mental illness continues to be wrongly associated with weakness—a perception he’s determined to help change.
