A 50-year-old man from Peterborough is facing multiple charges after police responded to a weapons call Monday evening near Rogers and Hunter streets.
Officers were called around 8:00pm after a man was reported entering an apartment building behind a resident. Police say the man was confronted in the elevator, where he pulled a knife and threatened the tenant before fleeing the scene.
He was found and arrested several blocks away.
The man is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was under conditions not to possess weapons and to keep the peace.
He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on June 17.
