Peterborough Police are searching for a suspect after a shotgun and hunting gear were stolen from a vehicle in Peterborough’s west end.
Officers were called around 5 a.m. on April 28th to a home near Weller Street and Wallis Drive.
Investigators say the vehicle’s owner had been preparing for a hunting trip and stepped inside the house for a short time. When they returned, the truck had been rummaged through and a firearm, along with other gear, was missing.
The stolen weapon is described as a 12-gauge Mossberg Turkey Thug pump-action shotgun, black in colour with a green cylindrical sight mounted on the barrel. Police say some ammunition was also taken.
The suspect is described as a male of medium build, wearing a dark blue or black jacket with white underarms, black track pants with reflective striping at the ankles, and black shoes with white soles. He was also wearing a green toque, brown or beige backpack, a hoodie underneath his jacket, and a medical mask covering his face.
